James Blackmon was a Federal Parole Officer who switched to a counseling career. Marilyn Blackmon chose a counseling and dispute resolution career after being a business woman and stay-at-home mom during her earlier phase.

The principals are a husband and wife team, both Licensed Professional Counselors and trained mediators and arbitrators. Jim specializes in treating addictions and children with behavioral problems. Marilyn specializes in problem solving and working with couples.
