How long have you been in business?
Lifting the Burden has been in business since 2001.
What is your primary product or service?
Our primary service is errands and concierge service. We do anything from grocery shopping, picking up RX, personal shopping or waiting for a service tech, installation or delivery.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I became interested in the errand and concierge business when I was laid off in 2000 and friends and family would ask me to run errands for them or wait at their home while a repair person came. I thought to myself, hmm I should be able to make money doing this; because everyone at some point or another needs an errand ran or someone to come to their house and wait when they can't.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We differentiate our services by integrating technology into our day to day. We make it easy to do business with us. If you don't want to call us or talk to anyone, you can schedule online, pay online and receive communication regarding your errand via email, sms or text.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We currently have 3 locations (Dallas-Fort Worth, Tyler & Houston) - we just launched in Houston in January 2018; we are currently looking at the Austin Market to determine if it is a good fit for us.

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Toni Duncan is the owner of the company and we have office managers for each respective location.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday - Friday 8 am - 5pm (we provide earlier & later times as requested)
Saturday & Sunday - pre-scheduled appointments only
